DRYDEN… Sen. Keith Goehner, R-Dryden, is pleased to celebrate with Cashmere’s Vale Elementary School for being named a 2025 National ESEA, (Elementary and Secondary Education Act), Distinguished School—one of only 63 schools nationwide to receive the honor.

Vale Elementary has been recognized for outstanding student achievement and academic growth, demonstrating significant progress in enhancing student success. The award, presented by the National Association of ESEA State Program Administrators, emphasizes schools that effectively utilize federal resources to improve educational outcomes.

“This is an incredible achievement for Vale Elementary and a point of pride for the entire State,” Goehner said. “Being recognized among the very best schools in the nation shows what’s possible when students are supported by dedicated teachers, strong school leadership, and an engaged community.”

Goehner praised the school’s dedication to academic excellence and ongoing progress. “This award didn’t happen by accident,” he said. “It reflects years of hard work, high expectations, and a focus on helping every student succeed. Vale Elementary is setting the standard for what effective education looks like in Washington.”

Vale Elementary will be officially recognized at the 2026 National ESEA Conference in Denver this February.

“Congratulations to the students, teachers, staff, and families who made this achievement possible,” Goehner added. “Your success is well-earned, and it demonstrates to the nation that our local schools are setting standards—and excelling—at the highest level.”
